Zarafa is a good counterpart for Microsoft Exchange: The web interface looks exactly the same and making appointments is compatible with people who use Microsoft Exchange. There is even an Outlook connector, so you get information in Microsoft Outlook.
It is also possible to your phone via Active Sync to sync with an internet connection. Phones supported: Windows Mobile, iPhone and Blackberry's. There is no additional software on your phone.
On http://demo.syn-3.eu already running a demo. You can login with demo / demo and you can sync your cell phone with this:

Note: All your appointments from your phone will be publicly visible. Appointments in the demo server, will reach your phone.
In Syn-3 version 4.3 we offer the ability to switch from Open Xchange to Zarafa.
