Basic functionality

The functionality of your server depends on the type of license you buy.

However, every SYN-3 server contains a very large amount of basic functionality that is compiled with the greatest care.

Stable updates The update system of SYN-3 is designed in such a way that you wont have trouble after updating. Updates have been extensively tested by our beta testers and go through a dev -> test -> accept stages. Only after going through all these testing stages we will release the updates. Clumsy database conversions and configuration adjustments that you are normally to with Linux and Opensource are history: SYN-3 does all the work for you.
Web portal for easy access All SYN-3 web applications are accessible via the embedded web server. You can access the appropriate web application with 1 easy click.
Friendly software RAID manager When using software RAID your system is protected against a harddisk crash. When a disk crashes, a warning via email is send. You can easily replace a drive and add them to the RAID array.
SYN-3: Self sufficient Every SYN-3 server has basic services such as a database, DNS server and email service. Because of this SYN-3 doesn't depend on external DNS servers or email servers. Less dependencies means less trouble.
Flexible network configuration Adding and removing IP addresses can be done simply from your web browser. SYN-3 automatically checks if your input is valid entries and if there are any network conflicts: it is not possible to make mistakes that make the server unreachable. SYN-3 uses audio signals to notify you when you connect the cable into the right card.
Clear firewall overview The powerfull firewall of Linux is shown in a user friendly overview. You can also put comments after each line. The firewall is designed in such a way that you can never block your own access to the server.
Built-in backup SYN-3 can backup your entire system to tape or to a Windows server. In the event of a hardware crash your recover your server from backup in a short time.
Built-in monitoring SYN-3 has extensive monitoring out of the box: Hard disk monitoring via SMART Software RAID monitoring Hardware RAID monitoring of HP Smart Arrays and others Monitoring a APC UPS Server redundancy monitoring Network Link Status Service status Backup Status DatuX is constantly adding new extensions to the monitoring system.
Central monitoring all servers The monitoring status of your servers can be mailed to you, but you can also see a list of all your servers. You can get an overview in our central monitoring server.
Flexible licensing SYN-3 licenses can be extended with additional options. Through our shop we offer more and more new options. In our other tours we will explain some of these options.
